"It's an insanely progressive album," says David Ellefson about Megadeth's new album

“This is a moment I have never felt or experienced until now,” reveals Ellefson

Megadeth 's new album , and with frequent updates, our expectations only grow. In a new interview, David Ellefson gave more details about the band's new record.

In an interview with Metal Rules , the bassist was asked if the sound of the new album is closer to Super Collider , from 2013, or to Dystopia , from 2016. “It’s definitely not in the vein of Super Collider . I think it’s Dystopia and even beyond that,” revealed Ellefson. “It’s a very technically challenging album. Dave Mustaine and I agreed that there are riffs on this album that are much harder to play than anything on Rust In Peace . It’s an insanely progressive record.”

When comparing the experience to the challenging riffs, Ellefson chose another legendary band: “I remember when I was a kid and Geddy Lee and Neil Peart from Rush played something humanly impossible. I had the same feeling now with our album with Dirk Verbeuren . It set me on fire!”

“I was like, ‘Holy shit – this is a moment I’ve never felt or experienced until now. Who knows, maybe I needed 55 years of experience and I got it with an experienced guy like Dirk. It’s the emotion, the fucking fire, the spirit I have about the new album. If you liked Dystopia , this CD won’t disappoint you,’” the bassist warned.
